Greater efficiency in warehouses and industrial areas with long-range RFID solutions
Tag Master's long range RFID readers can be used in an almost indefinite number of ways when it comes to identifying a vehicle, location or object and can be used in any type of action.Industrial areas
A particular area of application in which the use of long-range RFID solutions is common and very advantageos, is within industrial areas and on industrial vehicles. Typical areas of use are ports, mills, docks, mines, distribution centers or warehouses. The purpose is often to prevent unauthorized people from accessing restricted areas. Another purpose could be to provide efficient, convenient and safe handling of goods and merchandise. Yet another object could be to avoid long queues and unnecessary emissions at the gates of industrial plants, with vehicles waiting to enter or exit.Special requests
In an industrial environment there are often other technical systems that transmit on the same frequency and can therefore interfere with the signal of the RFID reader. To prevent noise, TagMaster has developed a function called Frequency hopping (FHSS), which allows the Reader to automatically find and select the best frequency with less or no noise. This is a function available in the LR-6 player. A suitable tag, specially developed for demanding environments is the Marktag HD.Use case: How a distribution warehouse uses TagMaster long range RFID readers
DG Pace Company Inc needed to improve the flow and functionality of doors in and around the warehouse. The company needed a turnkey solution for high-speed roll-up doors to ensure access to their fleet of forklifts to the industrial freezer. In the warehouse, several high-speed doors are adjacent to each other. Previously, the doors worked via sensors. With the sensor system, the doors opened quickly whenever vehicles or forklifts passed, even when they weren't trying to access the freezers. To address the needs of the warehouse, TagMaster supplied the LR series microwave readers and heavy duty tags. The 2.45 GHz readers are equipped with a highly defined and directional reading lobe, which simplified installation and configuration. In addition, only vehicles with a valid system can access each freezer door and every access opportunity is logged.
Heavy Duty Tags each have their own unique ID and are mounted to the vehicle *, so the warehouse can be dependent on their own tag and employees can accumulate their own unique tags from vehicle to vehicle, making employee tracking possible in addition to access to the vehicle control. With the TagMaster RFID system in place, the warehouse has a secure, efficient and easy-to-use system that is tough enough to withstand even the most demanding environments, including industrial and low-temperature environments. By installing RFID readers the company has also obtained data and a log, which shows all the steps, data that can be used for analytical purposes. * (The method of attachment depends on the technical requirements, the conditions inside the structure and the type of vehicle).
